What is a Clean Air Action Day?
Clean Air Action Days are called during the summer as part of a larger, voluntary campaign to help maintain Dane County's air quality. A Clean Air Action Day will be called for the following day when the air quality data and weather conditions indicate that ozone is predicted to reach a high level in Dane County.

A Clean Air Action Day lets people know that ground-level ozone could reach an unhealthy level for sensitive groups - active adults, children, older adults and people with asthma who are outside for long periods of time. During a Clean Air Action Day, all businesses, government agencies and citizens are asked to do their share for cleaner air by engaging in ozone-reducing activities.

How will I know when it is a Clean Air Action Day?
All media in Dane County will be notified to report the Clean Air Action Day message on television, radio and in newspapers. Citizens can also call the Wisconsin Daily Air Hotline (1-866-Daily Air).

Clean Air Coalition members will notify their employees on the afternoon prior to a Clean Air Action Day.
